CHOPIN OBSESSION: Be My Valentine My Dear Frédéric Chopin New Album Released On 02.16.2024 with 3.2 Million Streams on Spotify
CHOPIN OBSESSION: Be My Valentine My Dear Frédéric Chopin by PBS TV Star Marina Arsenijevic pianist
Marina was inspired to lovingly assemble, into an album titled "Chopin OBSESSION", all her favorite Chopin compositions which included 14 Waltzes along with Fantasie-Impromptu and Ballade G Minor No.1. Marina’s life story comes from the turbulence of war in former Yugoslavia/Serbia and has given her a special insight into Chopin’s musical “cry” for national identity while living and composing in Paris away from his native Poland besieged by Russian aggression. Marina’s wartime experiences of national disintegration of Yugoslavia has given her an unique perspective on Chopin’s work and enabled her to understand the full range of emotional nuances expressed in Chopin’s music from loneliness to melancholy to a bold expression to fight for right. It would be very hard for any pianist to fully express Chopin’s music without the insights of desperation that a life and death conflict imparts on the observer. Rather than putting the technical nature of Chopin’s compositions in the forefront, Marina has molded every piece to reveal its underlying emotional story using her nuanced virtuosity as needed to fully expose the genius of Chopin to the listener. You will be blown away by Marina's virtuosity and nuanced interpretation of 16 most beloved Chopin compositions that will make you fall in love with Chopin all over again.
Barbie meets Mozart
Marina was inspired by her favorite doll Barbie to create her version of "Barbie meets Mozart". Barbie is represented in most professions so here is my version of Barbie the Classical Pianist!
TESLA RHAPSODY (teaser) by PBS TV Star, Emmy nominated composer & pianist Marina Arsenijevic
"If you don’t like being in the dark when the lights go out, there is one person that you have to thank for all the electricity you use. It is the renowned scientist and inventor Nikola Tesla whose inventions are recognized as vital foundations for the technological era of both the 20th & 21st centuries. I wanted to pay tribute to my fellow Serbian American with the Tesla Rhapsody which is composed for piano and symphony orchestra combining elements of classical music, folklore, jazz, and blues.”
-MARINA ARSENIJEVIC
Tesla Rhapsody is composed for piano and orchestra combining elements of classical music, folklore, jazz and blues. It is a multilayered rhapsodic piano structure with distinguished melodies interwoven from Tesla’s heritage. The opening is inspired by Byzantine chants and church bells reflecting the sounds of Tesla’s childhood. This is augmented with elements of folklore from Tesla’s homeland. Since Tesla lived most of his adult life in New York City, Tesla Rhapsody uses elements of jazz and blues with bitonal and bimodal episodes to reflect his busy and highly productive New York life. The structure of the composition is inspired by Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. The piano texture is distinguished by “hidden” melodies in inner parts, dense polyphony, broken chords in open positions, and frequent pedals which contribute toward the static or ambivalent feel of the harmony. Tesla Rhapsody concludes in a heroic crescendo reflecting the impact of the genius of Tesla on the world.
The legacy of Nikola Tesla lives on through the continued application of his inventions even today. The name of Tesla (symbol T) has been memorialized by the entire scientific community since 1960 as a unit of magnetic field strength in the International System of Units. Today, his name has become even more universally known through the amazing success and popularity of the TESLA electric car and the efforts of our modern-day genius, Elon Musk.

Danube Rising
Marina's new composition and Video inspired by her childhood growing up by the Danube river ( second largest river in Europe) in Belgrade, Serbia. Her father liked fishing and he would take Marina on long trips along the Danube river starting in Serbia, to Romania, Hungary all the way to Austria.
All melodies she heard along the way were so different yet very similar. So Marina wanted to create music that united East & West as the Danube does.
